Snow cannons for the Winter Olympics
Piedmontese switchgear manufacturer Vegatec fitted out a pumping station which pumps water for the snow cannons from an artificial lake 2500m above sea level to create snow for the pistes in Turin for the Winter Olympics in 2006 (see page 21). The power distribution of the electrical switching cabinet was implemented using Wöhner busbar technology.
